Carter-Smith VFW Post #5867 has 1100+ members, including the VFW Auxiliary and The Veterans of Foreign Wars Motorcycle Club (VFW MC). All these groups meet here for a variety of outings and events. Commander Paula Jansen and the entire staff extends a warm welcome to you and invites you to enjoy the atmosphere and the events on all patriotic holidays. Sponsors: Teacher of the Year, Boy scout of the Year, Voice of Democracy ( Teaches Students About Our U.S. Government), and Patriots Pen.VFW Military Assistance Program: Our Lakeside Post adopted the USS Russell ported at Naval Station San Diego and the 670th Military Police Company in National City. We attend deployments and homecoming ceremonies four our units, and offer our assistance to their families while they are away.
